McFly are in the new issue of TVHITS also I scanned the poster from the last issue even though it's odl thought I should share :D
( Mc-Fly under the the cut for moreCollapse )
WTF is up with Brazilian tv?!
Mr James Bourne.
Will be turned into a cushion/pillow when I have 2 spare ticks ^_^
Yeah, not McFly, but is defo related to!
Side note - Erin. I have decided. On a Tom picture. For crocheting ala Doug style. Will prolly turn out just as big actually. Work begins...as soon as my man conjures up the pattern -_^
Get those paddles we talked about nice and charged.
Thanks to the awesomeness of twitter a few of us have linked up and it was during one such posting that emily31193 mentioned how awesome it would be to have a version of 'Scene it' that was McFly themed. I agreed and so did a very excitedrilla_my_rilla . Well that got me thinking. Why couldn't we make a series of quiz questions based on the boys and make a real social event of it? What if anyone that was interested in participating could submit a series of random questions (anything from written, verbal or visual questions) and we arranged a time and day during the horribly cold winter holidays to meet somewhere as a group (obviously somewhere safe and during the daytime, I won't have anyone here risking their necks) and run the competition-quiz. There will have to be a prize for the winner and I think... I think that I can arrange that with a little thought. I know the knitted scarf phase was pretty popular so maybe we could try knitting one of those or something. Anyway if you think this is a good idea and are interested feel free to messsage here and let everyone know. This way we can at least try and get the ball rolling for some extra group fun cohesiveness.
Much McFly 5-coloured love to you all!
Is it just me, or has Dougie idolised Tom Delonge for too long?
What the hell is up with the hair?
Ohh,,,,little Dougie's not as grown up as we thought
Love the hairstyle, Haz!
Ack! Bad hair! (good looking person though)
He looks good here...but not as good as Danny!!!
And need something to combat it ^_^
My solution so far..
Slowly but surely, the 4-string kid is being gobbled up and turned into a tapestry. Mwahaha.
Photoshopped, it doesn't really show how large the piece is going to be. But it's actually measuring 1m55cms in length. So it's 15cms taller than the Danny pic....
Now to start thinking about what can go in between....
BRING ON THE MCFLY LOVE IN AUSTRALIA!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well there we go everyone, another series of McFly shows in Australia over and once again the boys have kept everyone entertained.
The second show in Sydney ended last night and I have to be honest and say that I thought it was truly incredible! Better than the first of the two Sydney shows; the guys had alot more energy, more cheek and the crowd were less violent and corrupt. Fantastic!
Now before I end this review and let you guys wander off into cyberspace with empty download folders allow me to impart upon you two files. The first is a slightly dodgy recording of the McFly section of the gig and the second is a 57 sec video of the boys singing the last lines to 'Five Colours'. I wanted to get the whole song but my camera battery was close to its last breath so sorry guys =( next time k!
Much glowstick heart love to you all!
Thanks to everyone who came to see us today in Sydney. I apologize for my technical problems with my guitar...i suck so much that I couldn't work out what the problem was...turns out the battery had run out in my pedal, schoolboy error!
Anyways, apart from that we had a kick arse show. Sad that it's the last show we'll be playing in Australia on this trip but we'll try and come back as soon as!
Right, i'm in the studio while Dougie is recording some bass...well, we're meant to be recording but so far we eaten 2 pizzas and a picnic bar and talked rubbish for an hour. But we WILL get some recording done soon!
Captain Fletcher signing off
Oh, and on a side note, I heard 'I've Got You' being blasted from a house as I walked past it on my way home. I hadn't turned my iPod on yet, so I was very surprised and shocked to hear it. McFly certainly does have a fan base in Australia, that's for sure.
Anyway i did get a few videos but the clip of 'Lies' is by far the best. It's funny cos if you watch my videos in order you can tell we got closer to the front cos you can see the guys better. This video is the besy quality cos it was when we were really close and lies doesn't induce AS MUCH jumping as the other songs.
( After that i tried my luck at photos...Collapse )
I was bored, and after a stress filled day at work, I decided I would look for interesting photos, which I then thought I'd post so you can all enjoy the weirdness...
( prettinessCollapse )
Rumour has it they only did the signing for 20mins because there were too many peeps.
The boys being under-estimated again!
Stupid festical organisers...when will they learn! Ha! Yeah that was meant to read 'festival', but I think I got it right the first time.
But to rant for a tiny sec...
The boys have had no PR whatsoever down here and look at the reaction...
Not usually the style of band to have a massive cult 'under-ground-ish' type following but really.... I like it that way ^_^
Aaaand now i'll have the Backstreet Boys stuck in my head for the duration of this fabulous Monday. Well done LeeLee.
Seriously confused right now. I thought James Bourne was releasing a solo album, but now it appears as though he's in a new band called 'Call Me When I'm 18'. What happened to the solo career and album????????? He's also writing a musical about the songs from 'Welcome To Loserville'. Please tell me this boy hasn't turned to the darkside and moved to the states. I love him and all, but his new band's myspace www.myspace.com/callmewhenim18 says that he's now located in California. Please help.......................
Onto other news, McFly's Radio:ACTIVE album has been taken off our iTunes store. The only thing that shows up is JML and Greatest Hits. Does this mean that they're going to release over here? I thought i heard something about that on Friday night, but I'm not entirely sure. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Oh, and I have the song from JB's new band's myspace too, if anyone wants it.
Steve Rushton from Son Of Dork will be appearing in the movie 'Hannah Montana: The Best Of Both Worlds' with two songs called 'Game Over' and 'Everything I Want'. He has also written and performed a track for the upcoming movie 'Escape To Witch Mountain' called 'Emergency'.
Enjoy the song. It's certainly very different to Son Of Dork, but I like it. I want to hear the other songs he comes up with.
I was hunting through a Google Image Search and came up with these photos of four very sexy English men that I hadn't seen before, so I thought I'd share. Enjoy
I believe Lee is going to be writing up a more official review of the performance for McFly Fans Brazil but I thought I'd write a more, casual one for this livejournal group. Something uniquely ours and interesting. Hey who knows might even give her some inspiration! To begin with the day started off pretty early with a 6am car trip from Canberra to Sydney with Dimir, Chris and Chloe. Several trucks and idiot drivers tried to give our day an early end but thanks to sugar, the superior driving skills of Dimir, a badly ending 'guess the song, artist, album' game we made it to Forveux street where our apartment for the night was located. Yes we'd been playing quite a few McFly songs on the way up the highway as was appropriate =D
After a quick stop for petrol we arrived at the venue around 11:30-12pm to see the line which was already quite long! Given that we quickly joined the cue and found ourselves bonding with fans from all over Australia: Tasmania, Perth, Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane and more importantly Canberra (I think we accounted for possibly 5% of the total show sales but that's just my estimate). Alot of people already knew about this livejournal so if you were there and saw us, I thank you! It was wonderful to see everybody and I had... no... idea that there were that many 'Mc-Can-Fans'.
Welcome to Mc-Alley! This became a temporary home for the next 9 hours of patient waiting.
Bonding was pretty good. I felt a vibe that was going around even though there were a scary number of school-skipping teenies (sidenote: being a teenaged fan doesn't necessarily make you a teenie). I got the feeling that everyone was one massive group and that like homeless people living on the street for the day we each looked out for each other. It was obvious whenever a car came by and everyone was shouting and making sure even strangers weren't standing in the way. That and minding spots when a desperate trip to the Macca's next door was unavoidable. My usual shyness was gone and I was chatting to people as though I'd met them before, I loved the hours spent lining up in the street and I would do it again on the 15th. I think the only drawback was the teenie group who were belting out the lyrics to every single song they could think of, gave all us other fans a massive headache because of their loudness and their constantness. Anyone that was there I emphasise: red trousers, irritating to the middle of the line back when it only ran to the gate where the vans were parked.
By 1pm the line had grown a little bit and there was a certain buzz of tension in the air. The roadies had already rocked up with all the gear and were unloading it while amazed fans wondered if they could possibly get away with touching the magical black boxes which were clearly marked 'McFly' before the roadies sent them packing. I stood approximately 1m from some of the boxes which I suspect held alot of Harry's drumkit pieces. It was pretty cool just to see that and I felt kinda lucky. Didn't think it would get better.
Honestly, life would be so much fun if you could be a roadie for McFly!
Checkout the labels! I should look up what a ESA Dual Rec is.
Sure enough a white mini-van appeared with the four boys waving from the windows. Well technically only Tom, Danny and Dougie were. Harry was on his mobile and for a split second I caught his eye. His facial expression was sort of like 'this is great but oh.. no...' Fans were screaming and running from all places in the line to get close to the van while it drew into the depot. They went ballistic, like seagulls flying in for a chip with enough squawking to boot. I didn't scream or rush up but I did sorta raise my hand when the bus came past, very casual like. Felt great! Pity I was too busy with my wave to remember to take a picture of the van. Ah well somebody will definately have that. Heh heh!
After that for a minute street-life resumed. Everyone happy and waiting in line, or else playing with music devices or stress balls. Every couple of minutes there would be a scream, a dash and a horde of girls cramming to see through a crack in a door/window/gate to catch a glimpse of the boys. I think it got soo bad that eventually the boys themselves actually CAME OUT! Yes!! Julian and his cronies along with Fletch opened up the gates and let some of the fans in to say hello to Dougie, Danny and Tom. Harry was there but on his phone so pretty much absent really, pity. AND GUESS WHAT! I got to say hey to Tom -feels special-. It was soo cool. Dimir got a picture taken with Danny (I took two shots of it with two different cameras at the same time. Danny sorta laughed and said 'oh cool, multi-tasking'. 'Yep' I replied 'that's my greatest skill'. Funny as hell. Chloe got him to sign her album and he talked to her for ages. Dimir went to get a picture with him and soon as that was taken he pointed to me and said 'could you say hi to my friend?'. 'Yeah sure' says Tom then turns to look at me and I nearly drop my camera. Here I am in my purple handknitted McFly scarf and his brown eyes are staring at me. I could have gone all mellow but I didn't somehow, I kept my cool but my heart nearly died. Dimir took a photo and I swear to god, Tom had his arm around me! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Definately the all-time greatest photo of me in the entire world! He's thinner than I thought he was though and a little bit shorter (not short though). He was a little bit quiet though =O
Forget Wally, where's Dougie!
Danny and Tom. Dougie got swallowed up by girls (he's shorter than I thought he was).
So after that moment of intense chaos the boys were swept away by management. Everyone was really psyched for the show. It was back to street mode but not before I was pulled over by a community member who thought I was Lee, the excellent scarf-maker/popcast extraordinaire (plea
My scarf rocked, I love it!
The next exciting thing to happen was when some of the Mcfly management team came out of the stage doors in the direction of the first Starbuck's I have seen in a year (I thought they went bankrupt?) to get the boys some sustenance of the caffeine variety! Ha ha!
Bet you that one of these is a Frappe for Tom lol! They also had a delivery of KK dougnuts earlier in the morning.
After that nothing much happened except for the pavement vibrating each time Harry hit the drums during a sound-check. We could hear the music a little bit as well and most people were either hanging out on the street, singing or otherwise stopping traffic. By 5pm the line had grown all the way around the block and for a corner as more fans began arriving from school, work or inter-state... in some cases from New Zealand! Seriously cool!
The official Australian tour poster. I wanted to steal it but it was behind glass. Rats!
7pm arrived and the bouncers started to let everybody in. After a bag check (they stole any food or liquid that you had, even pump water bottles weren't allowed in) they made everybody hole up in the foyer. This was dodgy because it meant that people who had been waiting all day were kicked out of place by those that arrived later and there was so much swarming I thought I was going to be trampled. Once they had a sizable crowd inside they opened the doors and everybody rushed, like those netted fish in finding nemo. It was crazy and my ankle nearly got broken when five girls ran at me all at the same time. Thump, ouch. I yelled out and screamed at people to just calm down but that didn't work.... so I gave up and went to follow my friends who were all staring at me wierdly... yep. Got inside and made it to the third row from the front on the Dougie side (not where I wanted to be really but oh well). It was a little squashy but okay for the first act 'Skybombers'. I thought they were okay but they got a little too carried away.
The second act really wasn't very good. I know alot of people thought they were awesome but I just saw some guys that really couldn't play their instruments properly. Damn. By this stage Chloe and I had been severely crushed and were finding it hard to stand or breathe. We got out of the mosh and went to stand up at the back in the tiers. Unbelievably good view and plenty of space. Only problem was our feet were terribly sore. We didn't like the second act much so instead went to sit on some couches near the bar. After intermission the stage lit up and McFly came to rock out live! Go boys! It was FANTASTIC! Honestly they always play well but this was even better than Annandale. Bigger venue, more atmosphere and excellent lighting effects. I loved it! Imagine Chloe and I with our glowsticks. I lost track of the others down in the pitt. It got really bad down there so it was a good thing I had left it when I did. Each time an act came on one of the singers had to ask people to back up because there had been heaps of accidents when people lost conciousness from heat, dehydration and from being crushed by the mob. I hate how each time a really good band comes on you get the mob scene. Girls are worst I have to say, they get really desperate and like to push their chests and arms right into the back of you. So gross.
The blue drumkit in the back is Harry's =D it was so awesome, and lit up in different colours.
Great show! Never felt so happy in my entire life. Seriously if you can get to the second show on the 15th do so! It will be one of the best moments of your entire life! The performance stage art was excellent as well, lots of high kicks up into the air, crowd participation, jokes at the expense of each other (to quote Dougie: 'This is the story of a hotel room where Tom and Danny stayed and in which I was conceived. I dunno about Harry but I think they adopted him). Harry actually came to the front of the stage because his microphone wasn't working and he sang and danced to a song chorus (not one of theirs, it's like when he sang 'Hero'). Danny stuffed up one of the opening chords to one of the songs (as usual, lol I think he does it deliberately) and tried to blame Dougie for it. I just spent the whole 1hr 15mins laughing, dancing, singing and going crazy. Greatest night ever!!!
Also some news: New McFly album to be released this year. It is currently being recorded in SYDNEY once more which puts us on parr with England! Heh heh heh! I can't imagine how annoyed some of the British fans are going to be to know that we've been getting alot of preference for the recording lately not to mention some pretty intimate shows. Also I heard that there are some album launches happening at the Melbourne Push festival, if you're going I hope you got tickets. The boys are incredibly nice to their fans!
AND I managed to once again record the entire show. It's the same recording device so the quality isn't so good but you can hear all the on-stage prodding and poking. Hopefully I can hand it to Lee and she'll cut it here and there to make it work. =D
De ja`vu much?!?!
Hoping to get it done by the 27th...without developing severe RSI...
Most of you know now that McFly are coming back to the great sunshine country down south and that there have been rumours of a cancellation to their Sydney concert at The Metro (George St, near the Macca's). Firstly I would like to extend the information that as it stands currently this is certainly not true. On the Metro website www.metrotheatre.com.au/search/mcfly they have finally announced an actual time and date for the McFly show on the 27th February, 7pm. No idea about ticket payments, cost or support acts as of yet. Lee informs me that they might be letting everyone know on the Monday so no doubt she will post here too. Thanks Lee you're awesome!
On a second note (which is also linked to Lee) many Australian fans are working hard to get McFly the recognition they deserve here in Australia. Therefore if any of you can spare a couple of minutes to email off a template plea to the team at Sunrise or any of their corresponding 'talk show - human interest' programs (e.g. television, radio, newspaper etc) please do! I have already done so. You can find the template for the original letter somwhere on here www.mcfly.com/forum/topic6290-australian-f
Does anyone have High Quality scans/pics of any/all of McFly's albums?!?
Preferably quite large in size?!?
I have RadioACTIVE from their myspace, but any others would be ace ^_^
Cheers in advance~!
Side note - how we all doing?!?! Still breathin`?!?
Side note #2 - all i want for xmas is for the boys to announce a tour date when they grace us with their presence yet again in February ^_^
However, i'm not going to lie, I got a lil excited at the 1 minute 55 second mark -_^
Man I hope they put out a dvd of this tour man!
Interview about surfing.
I found this and I'm sure others will want to hear it
It's the McFly guys singing I Kissed A Girl at the Livelounge. I'm sure it's recent. I also have photos of Danny playing soccer if anyone wants.
